Our little chocolate fiend

Chloe is notorious in our home for getting into what she shouldn't. We got home last night to a very happy perky Chloe... with chocolate breath. Over the last year and a half we have learned that chocolate is her sweet of choice, and out of an assorted Hershey chocolate bar mix Crackle and Mr. Goodbar are her favorites. She's never been sick from anything (miraculously), and we're just hoping she doesn't go blind! This time the victim was the last of my chocolate doughnut holes. We try really hard to keep things where she can't get them, but my goodness is she sneaky! It's not safe unless its in the cupboard or the fridge (better not leave the fridge open while you're not looking though)! If you ever come to visit, never eve leave your food on the table unattended, she has been known to jump right onto the table and dig in!

Around Christmas time we kept finding wrappers and still wrapped chocolate on the floor and still are amazed at how she got them. The bag of chocolate was on the highest side tier of our desk in the office. To get to them she had to push the chair out from the desk, jump up onto it, then jump from the chair (which spins by the way) onto the desk (completely covered with stuff by the way), walk around and put her paws up to that top part and stick her head in the bag and pull them out one at a time. She really would leave the plain chocolate ones sitting around on the floor but the wrappers for her favorites were always torn apart and empty.

The cute part of it is how guilty she gets when she realizes that you know what she did (pictured above). We never hit her or anything, you just point to a wrapper or empty plate and ask her "Chloe what is this?" and she shrinks down real low and if you get close she'll lick your face as if to say "I know, I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself!"

North Carolina Trip 2011

For those of you who may not know, Brad's family is in North Carolina. We recently got back from a trip to see them, and spend time at the beach with Jennifer and her little family. I had not yet had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer & Justin's sweet little twins! From the left this is Justin, Jennifer (his sis), Addison Grace, Brad, Chloe, me, and Braeden Lane. (On a side note, Jennifer's hair always looks nice, but just before we took pictures Brad started teasing her and messed it all up... sorry I didn't notice till after!) It was so fun to see all his family, and really hard to leave. Let me tell ya, Nanny's house (his dad's mom) feels like home away from home, she is such an angel to us all. Everything was fun from watching the babies to the good food and the beach!

Again, this is Braden, we call him Bubs or Bubbie. It was during our "Nanny Breakfast" that he discovered he really loves bacon! By the way a "Nanny Breakfast" is a special treat: Tons of everything including bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, toast, a variety of beverages and fruit, hash browns, etc... Delicous.

Poor little things it was past their nap time, but we were leaving so I just had to have a picture!

Chloe was not so sure of Halle (above) and Sammi (not pictured) when they first met, but they got along fine. Halle is the sweetest boxer, I loved snuggling with her!

Addison and Braeden were not sure what to do with the sand. First they stared at it, Addison wouldn't even sit down on it. Then, they tasted it of course. After some coaxing they played in it a little. Braeden didn't mind getting close to the water, but Addison didn't like how cold it was.

Above is Seascape, we stayed in the condo just a floor above the one that Brad and Jennifer went to on family vacations when they were young!

One of the things Brad was most excited for in NC was the food and Cheerwine! We've looked at shipping some out to UT before, but unfortunately shipping just cost WAY too much. We went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for dinner one night at the beach, which was really cool. We each got a balloon hat which was fun, and the babies were mesmerized by the guy who made them (he was on stilts).

After I had been offered "brains & eggs" in a serious manner, I truly believed this was a real can of chopped slugs that people in the south would eat... thank goodness it turned out to be a gag gift. However I did learn that I LOVE love LOVE fried grits!

I'm not a big fan of true southern BBQ, but I do love hush puppies. I really wish they would replace french fries with them out here!

These pictures were all just taken for fun during travel. I got a new phone before our trip that has a lot of really cool camera options, and this was the perfect opportunity to play with them. North and South Carolina are both beautiful!

Jennifer and Justin were so sweet to invite us to the twin's 15 month check up! They were so cute & happy before the shots and all, and so sweet cuddling up to their mama and daddy afterward :) They were born premature weighing in at just 2 lbs 7oz, and 2 lbs 10 oz, but are now perfect, healthy, beautiful children! They are so much fun! They love running around. Braeden is a little more dramatic of the two which is fun because when he is happy, boy he is just smiling as big as he can and laughing laughing laughing. Addison is a very happy girl too (they were very easy to babies to stay with!) she talked a little more than Braeden and loves to blow kisses. Like Jennifer told me before I came, it's fun to hold them... if you can catch them!

I think it is the sweetest thing; the babies will reach out and hold hands all the time :)

Well to end the post I figured I'd choose this picture of Chloe which portrays exactly how we felt on the way home. Poor Chloe had to be drugged to keep her calm during the trip there and back. It was great we got a flight that didn't leave NC until 5pm, but with an hour and a half drive to the airport and home from the UT airport, and a flight delay in Vegas we didn't get home until 4:30 am! Chloe was such a good girl and miraculously held everything in the entire time we were traveling. It was so wonderful we had a chance to go and can't wait until next time. We are thinking it probably won't be until next summer. We would love to go sooner and more often though if possible!

Jack Johnson Concert!

For an early birthday present Brad let me buy tickets for the both of us to the Jack Johnson To The Sea concert! We went with our friends Keith, Evelin, and Sophia (who is now famous). It was an awesome experience. We were up at the front of the pit for most of Jack's portion of the concert and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! On the way to the concert Sophia had drawn a sign for Jack on her little white board that said "I love Jack Johnson" but of course being six containing a few misspelled words and super cute. The first picture was of her holding the sign for him. She held it for the first two or three songs and then got tired and put it down. Before the next song Jack asked the audience "Where's the little girl with the sign? Somebody put a spotlight on her" Then he talked to her and Evelin thanking her for the sign and commending Evelin for raising her on his music! It was the coolest thing! After that everywhere she went in the venue people gave her high-fives and took pictures with her! I made shirts for all the girls that said "I Heart (shape) Jack Johnson" that were pretty cute. Mine and Soph's were pink with yellow writing, Evelin's was white with blue writing, and Brad and Keith had a shirt that just said Jack Johnson To the Sea. I can't believe we forgot to get a picture all together!

Not sure why these next two are upside down!! I'm feeling too lazy to fix it right now though. Anyway ALO was really good, however the next guy was not my favorite or Brad's so we hung out on the grass by the vendors for a while and just people watched and laughed.

I have tried and tried to figure out why/how to fix this picture being sideways (checking original and re-uploading) but it just keeps coming out sideways! So here is my version of the Jack Johnson album cover made into a t-shirt, but sideways.

It was such a great weekend! The day before I even got to go to a free day at Lagoon with Triton (the company I work for) which means I got to go with Keith, Evelin, and Sophia! I wish Brad could have come, but he had to work :( and i just want to add- thank goodness for motion sickness pills! Thanks to those little babies I enjoyed lots of rides!

Learning to Shoot

Randomly a few weeks ago Brad said, grab some earplugs we're going shooting (does it all the time with his buddies but usually I would rather spend that time at a craft store or something). Logan is SO BEAUTIFUL! And I absolutely love summer here because of all the sunflowers. Shooting was fun, but I think I enjoyed taking pictures even more! ! Here are some of my favorites...

My parents had kept the top of our wedding cake in their freezer for us. When they came to visit a month or two ago they brought it down for us. We were a little late (ate it after our first anniversary) but it was actually still really good. Nice job Sis. DeMille!

Chloe's First Birthday

Chloe's Birthday is July 3rd. We bought her a bag of toys and goodies from Petsmart the day before and she loved it. She knew that it was all hidden in our guest closet the day we bought it and boy did she want it and want it now! On her birthday she received a tiny little steak and got to rip all the toys out of the bag. Her favorite is the "blue man" that she has already torn to pieces. Once that one was destroyed she moved onto the goose, which is also now torn to pieces. She still however has a little bit left of her HUGE busy bone. Her toy collection is starting to look a little bit sadistic with all these torn apart body parts!

Brad's 23rd Birthday!

Happy Birthday Brad! Brad decided early on that he wanted a surround sound system for his birthday. We ended up buying it probably two weeks before that and he tried making bargain after bargain to convince me to let him open it early, but I held strong. I ended up letting him open it after dinner the day before so he could set it up, but he was not allowed to turn it on until midnight. Then at midnight we started our Harry Potter movie marathon which went through the next day. We did attempt his family's recipe for his favorite cake again this year, however I made him make the fudge frosting stuff that I so thoroughly ruined last year. This time it was delicious!

We love hanging out with Dallin and Geisa, and often Matt. We've done barbecued chicken and ribs up the canyon and on a separate occasion tin foil dinner yummm. The guys favorite part is always making the bonfire. In these first couple pictures the fire that time was absolutely HUGE and incredibly hot!! They were so proud haha. We're going camping with them this upcoming weekend and I'm so excited :) (It will be my birthday!)

Fourth of July

This year we celebrated the fourth of July with our good friends Keith, Evelin, and their daughter Sophia. We planned to grill all three meals that day, however we both ended up sleeping in and having an early lunch, which filled us up till after dinner time, and had a late dinner. We hung out at the pool and then we waited for it to get dark so we could light off some fireworks across the street. My favorite part was when Brad thought that the box of long sticks you use to light fireworks were sparklers. He tried for two straight minutes to get them to sparkle and darnit they just wouldn't. I laughed and laughed and finally told him that they were not sparklers.

One of our favorite things to do during these beautiful warm months is go to the park with Chloe. She is obsessed with her ball and frisbee and even when she tires out she refuses to let go of them. Sometimes she will even run with the ball in her mouth to go catch the firsbee, gets to the firsbee, and can't decide which one to bring back.

Say hello to Emily Jones, Property Manager for Oak Meadows apartments in Logan, UT. 132 units of fun :) I am so sad to see my manager and friend Brooke leave, but am so excited and grateful to have this new position! We got to move into the manager's apartment last week which is three bedrooms and has a jacuzzi tub, which I LOVE! We are still settling in, but once its all nice and clean I'll have to post pictures.

Even more exciting news... I have a new niece as of today! Eloise Lanae Flamm, I hope to meet her soon! And while my mom is down helping Judd and Mel take care of the kids we are happy to be sharing our home with Lizzie... she's snuggling next to me as I type :)

Chloe the balloon hunter

Sorry it's kind of sideways I don't know why...

Anyway, Chloe has discovered balloons. Discovered that she LOVES to chase after and pounce them. The best is when the balloon has lost half it's helium so it just hovers above the ground a foot or so. She's pretty smart at it. She pounces, gets the string in her mouth, then jumps pulling the string down with her paw and biting the string higher up until she finally can bite the balloon. She loves to just grab onto the string and walk around with it. That's my favorite.

First off... ew. Running into the store I ran into this creature (apparently a nutria) which at first looked like a cute but very large guinea pig... then I saw its tail. SICK.

Anyway, I got my Jack Johnson tickets for August 13th in the mail this last weekend! Yay!

Sunshine!

So here I am sitting at work with a free minute... shhhh... just thinking about how grateful for sunshine I am. First of all, hello you can't get a tan that isn't orange without the sun. A little less exciting, but still importantly the sun sustains all the wonderful life in this beautiful world! I definitely enjoy the vitamin D effects of the sun on my mood, and hate the winter simply because of the short hours of sunshine. I feel so much more lazy during the cold dark winter months. It's finally time to get out of the winter funk. It's only April but we've already got people out in the hot tub begging us to open the pool all day this week!

The office needs a cordless phone and a laptop so I can do business from a lounge chair by the pool during these lovely months :)

A few things I have made this year

One day I got an urge to give a little face lift to the entertainment center, so I sanded all the edges of it. It's hard to see in the picture but it helps blend the brown and black in our living room.
The next pictures are of a gift I made for my friend Brooke and her baby Hayley. I decorated the bag with matching fabric (just kind of silly but fun) and then I made some appliqued onesies.

I made a cute pillow for Chloe, but came home a while ago to find that she had successfully torn apart the pillowcase and the whole pillow inside!

At work I am in charge of "resident retention" and every month I plan a party or do something special for all of our residents. In February I made valentines for everyone with my new silhouette (it's like a cricut paper cutter for those of you who don't know) and I think they turned out pretty cute and simple.

I also made a little valentines mailbox just for fun.

It's hard to tell in the picture but these are so glittery and cute when hung on your Christmas tree. They're fun to make too.

This is the first apron I've made without using a pattern. I mostly just love the fabrics!

The SNOW block letters and snow man were a super Saturday project and I LOVE them

I was originally going to sew this onto Chloe's big pink dog bed we made her when we got her, but with her history of tearing things apart I figured it would be safer somewhere else.

I LOVE this project. I bought a beautiful mirror and used my silhouette to cut out the black vinyl lettering that is stuck on it.

For Christmas Brad bought me my craft table, but I wanted something fun to go over it on the wall, and I love any opportunity to use my silhouette, so this is what I came up with.

So Brad and I decided to go to the park today and feed ducks. It was actually a LOT of fun. Usually you only see ducks, but today there were a couple geese. The goose i'm feeding in the video was a greedy little guy! If I didn't get him another piece of bread quick enough he would honk at me and nibble my toes!! Also, if any other geese would come near and I tried to feed it he would run it off! Brad fed a nice little white goose.

Other than that we've mostly spent our time working...and working. I feel like that's all I do so I think I'll have to cut back my hours so I can spend more time taking care of the apartment (which Brad has been doing and I'm so grateful!) and spending time with the hubby and soon to be here puppy! Did I mention we're getting a puppy?

Our baby girl's name is Chloe and she is a westie-poo. Her father is a FOUR pound poodle and her mother is an ELEVEN pound westie! Odd couple haha, but so she will likely be 4-9 pounds, which was the range of sizes of the last litter. She is second to smallest of this litter so probably more like 5-6 pounds.

We pick her up in Provo on this Saturday and we have both been DYING waiting. We're glad it's not an actual baby (for more than one reason) because we are SO bad at waiting! He's as excited as I am!

We already have her food, collar, harness, leash, toys, kennel, bowls, bed, tags, etc. We hear from her current mom that she is a little cuddle bug (which I love) and that she is doing great. We're lucky her current mom is so nice as to send us pictures every day or so. I think she is adorable :)

I don't get much time on the internet when I can pick up wifi... so this might be short, might not.

First off, isn't my grandpa the most handsome looking guy?! He is so wonderful!

Well our adventure in TN was... fun? but sadly came to an end about a month or more ago. Turns our this last week the office moved from TN to NY since they were doing so poorly, so I think we made the right choice in leaving (though I would LOVE to see NY!)

Brad is back working at convergys full time, and after a month of searching and no leads, I suddenly have two jobs. I am a shift lead at down east basics in the mall (I'm excited for the discount) and even better I'm a leasing agent at our apartment complex (BREAK ON RENT YAY)! I've done a couple hrs training at down east, and I start as a leasing agent on tuesday :)

We're trying to get classes figured out this week (cross our fingers) and after many hours of looking at major options for Utah State I think i'm going to go into a dual major of early childhood education/elementary education. I'd be certified to teach from pre-kindergarten to sixth or eighth grade. I wouldn't want to teach highschool. All schools are zoos, but I think i'd enjoy the zoo with the younger kids.

Brad is still looking into the pre-physical therapy program at Utah State, but he's still got time to decide (unlike me).

We LOVE our apartment. We were worried that we should have got a cheaper one, but now with this job we'll be paying less here than at a dump anywhere else so we're very excited! We loved staying with grandma and grandpa Flamm while we were looking for an apartment though. I wish there wasn't a canyon inbetween us or I'd be over there all the time!Don't you see where I get my good looks?! ;)

Well I've got to go get ready for more training at the mall... so hopefully this will satisfy(for now) those of you who are unhappy with my blogging frequency :)

Just Married!

Well other than running to the drop in clinic in the middle of our luncheon, the wedding day was wonderful! By the end of the day we were exhausted and happier than ever before. We absolutely LOVE all our pictures from our photographers and family! I am going to treasure those forever. Well after our two nights at the beach we set off to spend a night at Missy & Brad (1)'s house and get our stuff ready for Tennessee.

The drive out was... lame. The first day after Utah was SOO long and when we decided to stop for the night we discovered there were no vacant hotel rooms for the next 100 miles due to several local graduations and Brad was incredibly tired and cranky.... fanTASTIC. So the second day was short because we had to drive so late the night before. The apartments are much larger and nicer than we would be able to afford ourselves, thank goodness the company pays for it after so many sales. Everyone here is really nice and we enjoy the atmosphere we live in.

Brad FINALLY got his first sale last night and second today! Woot! We really kinda miss all our family, living so close to B1 and Missy, and not far from grandparents and Judd and Kyle's families. Hopefully the summer will go well and be over quickly. It is a very different lifestyle than we had in Utah with Brad working mon-sat 1pm-10pm or 9am-10pm. It's good for us though, we enjoy our time together more than ever. We haven't done much since we've been here other than a little shopping, but I'm sure we'll get out and explore Nashville once we find time and what we want to see most.

I must say this week has not been an easy one for poor Brad. Before getting his first sale we was bit by a dog. Then another door he knocked, he shook the woman's hand and she grabbed began to stroke his hand with her free one, inviting him to go inside and "get to know each other". Stupid hooker. Later that day, he knocked on a door that was simultaneously being robbed. Before he knew what all the noise was inside eight cops rolled up pointing their guns at him yelling at him to put his hands up and get on the ground. That was definitely his worst day so far. Other than that it's mostly been getting pushed off tall porches right onto his butt, getting the cops called on him, and being cussed at a LOT. So thank goodness for the sweet little old ladies he meets that are nice! It makes him miss his nanny :)

Wednesday and Sunday are the two days of the week Brad doesn't have to work and I love those days so very much! Today was an especially good Wednesday. I got out of class and we made breakfast together (hashbrowns and cereal...SCORE) and set off on our somewhat adventure filled day. We went into the Hyundai dealership that he works at for a bit and talked to his mom on the phone and got some recipes. We made our first attempt at baking momma jones's chocolate pound cake. Even after dropping the pan, spilling flour, and adding ingredients in the wrong order, it was pretty darn delicious.. but not as good as I can imagine his mom makes it.

We also picked up a little machine for paraffin wax for your hands, and man did that feel nice on my cold fingers! Although, I think Brad was even more excited than I was! It evens out though, because I was even more excited than him to go climbing through hundreds of pumpkins today to find the perfect one. :)

We just have so much fun together, and I absolutely love every minute, from climbing through pumpkins and baking to just sitting and laughing at how dorky we both are! It makes me just a little bit sad that tomorrow isn't another Wednesday.

Emily Marie Flamm~ I'm from Vancouver Washington I'm currently going to Utah State University, undecided for a major at this point but would possibly like to get my bachelors in diagnostic medical sonography. I love to sleep, bake, hot tub, play piano and well... nap! Sunshine, swings, puppies, and fuzzy socks are my favorite. I miss my little Odie and Lizzie so much! They were the best nap partners EVER! It's still surprising to me to put on a black shirt and not have to take a lint roller to it to get all the white fur off. I kind of miss that too even! My family means the world to me. I love seeing my niece and nephews grow up, and having the opportunity to live near them. And, I'm in love with a boy...

Bradley Thomas Jones~ I'm from High Point North Carolina, I moved to Utah a year and a half ago as an answer to a prayer, I've been praying ever since trying to figure out why I'm here...I have a daughter named Talia she is the sweetest and cutest child anyone could ever ask for! Did i mention she loves drooling, wrestling around, and playing fetch! (She's a dog) Music is a passion of mine I play the guitar and drums, however I'm not very good. I love anything outdoors especially rock climbing and camping! ...I have the answer to my prayers, I'm in love with a girl...

How We Met~ Coming from opposite sides of the United States, we met up in good ol' Logan Utah. One day Emily was out at the hot tub with her roommate Lis, and Brad was up on the clubhouse balcony grilling up some ribs with his roomies and decided to randomly talk to the cute girl down below in the bikini (as Emily's dad so often reminds us). Emily decided to take a chance and go eat some ribs with them, and let's just say she liked them a lot! We spent the rest of the evening together watching Take the Lead and looking at stars up Green Canyon...Life has never looked so bright for either one of us! We are very much in love with one another, and cannot wait to officially begin our life together as Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
